Chip Repairs, The first line of defense

Windshield chip repairs are performed according to accepted auto-glass industry standards to restore structural integrity and help prevent cracks from spreading. In general, chips smaller than a quarter, not extending into the windshield edge, and not directly in the driver’s primary line of sight are typically repairable.

During repair, specialized resin is injected into the damaged area under controlled pressure and cured with UV light. While repairs significantly improve strength and appearance, a minor cosmetic blemish may remain. Chips that are too large, too deep, located near the edge, or have extensive cracking usually require full windshield replacement to maintain safety.
